Last Serial
In a season of disappointment for the Miami Heat, Bam Adebayo was a bright spot. Today, he was announced as all-defensive second team and awarded the NBA Social Justice Champion. His season was highlighted, of course, by his 83 point game against the Wizards on May 10, marking the second highest scoring game in NBA history. As I watched the game, I knew I had to get a NBA Top Shot moment of the performance. Top Shot smartly released the 83 point game moment as a mind-to-demand Top Shot This moment that was released the next day. I immediately went on the hunt for a special serial and found this perfect Blockchain parallel moment, which I thought was a steal at $99. I couldn't hit the buy button fast enough.
I was looking back on this moment recently and thinking what makes a moment special and valuable to me. An interesting comparison recently arose when I saw a Bam Adebayo jersey serial 25-26 Holo Icon legendary moment listed for $99 a few days ago. I thought long and hard about buying this moment, but could never pull the trigger. What made my reaction so different between these two moments? Both were Bam (my favorite player). Both were special serials. Same cost. The legendary had a much smaller mint (only 39 non-parallel mints) and came from a TopShot hallmark set (Holo Icon). Of course, the difference is the moment. The Holo Icon moment is from a win over OKC in which Bam set his career high in the 3 pointers made in a game (a record that he would top only a few weeks later). The Top Shot This moment came from one of the all time greatest scoring performances in NBA history.
When I am shopping for moments, I'm still looking for Heat and rookie moments as my primary focus. Reflecting on this Bam moment was a great reminder to not forget the moment itself. Remember, the moment matters!
