I consider myself a small time collector. I buy packs during drops when I can and keep what I get in them. I managed to get a couple of Freshman Gems pack and only got one. But that one was a Dylan Harper. As a Spurs fan, I was happy and relieved. I don't have his TSD but I at least have this moment.
Fast forward to the playoffs, the Spurs just lost Wembanyama in game 2. Game 3 was looking dire. Everyone was a bit edgy. We were down big. Up until Scoot Henderson got T'd up for taunting Harper. Not long after, Harper's response.
I was ecstatic, celebrating the play. Got on to twitter and searched up the replay. I quote tweeted it with the #TopaShotThis and tagged Top Shot. Got in the discord and announced "Harper moment incoming!".
I wanted that moment. The only way to get it was to exchange one of his rares, which I luckily had. When it was time to exchange, I actually hesitated briefly, as I saw the price of my moment go up. But, this is the first time I'm able to watch games in full and uninterrupted. I watched it live, I celebrated it. Out of all the Top Shot moments, this one will be the most meaningful. I had to get it.
When I got it, I said I'll wait till game 5 to open it and maybe get lucky with the serial. It wasn't anything special. And because I waited, I missed out on the auction for the parallel. But overall, I'm happy. The Spurs closed out the series, and I hold a TS moment where I witnessed the arrival of the future floor general of the San Antonio Spurs.
