Generational from day 1? The Maine Event has answered the call to save a grieving Dallas franchise. Seeing Cooper Flagg in person play his first NBA minutes in Las Vegas this past July at 2025 Summer League was nothing short of an electrifying peek into the future face of the league. Now stamped with his rightful title of 2025 NBA Rookie of the Year, The Maine Event is now coming to a city near you.
His rookie season was historic and unforgettable. In a close, but not so close battle for ROY against his college roommate and current rookie Hornet, Kon Knueppel, Cooper snatched his chain back and is deservingly the best rookie in this year’s class. Cooper Flagg averaged 21 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, 4.5 assists per game, while already becoming a premier defender in the league. Not to mention he dropped 51 points against the staunch defense of the Orlando Magic.
His best rookie moment on NBATopShot in my opinion is his Origins moment. His first 20+ point game and arrival “I’M HIM” statement dunk versus the Toronto Raptors. Everything about the moment is perfection. The throwback green uniforms, the and 1 whistle after the poster, and his aggressive celebration he shares with the fans of the Dallas Mavericks on Texas soil. I managed to snag an autographed Origins moment only minted to 10. This relic is also the only Cooper Flagg autographed moment signed with his nickname “The Maine Event”. A true grail that will belong in my collection forever.
